The American Homebrewers Association’s 15th Annual Learn to Homebrew Day is tomorrow, Saturday, November 2, 2013. Clubs, homebrew shops and others around the country are hosting events to introduce the curious to homebrewing and help existing homebrewers take it up a notch.
While I learned to homebrew some 16 or so years ago, I only made the switch to all-grain last fall. What seemed at the time like a very intimidating step turned out to be the switch that reminded me how enjoyable it is. Making much better beer didn’t hurt in the least, either.
In Missoula, Summer Sun Garden & Brew will be providing two homebrewing demonstrations. The first, starting at noon, will feature an extract based beer with a partial mash of specialty grains. The second, starting around 3:00-ish, will feature an all-grain beer. They will also be having sales and giveaways at the store all day long. Summer Sun is at 838 W. Spruce St. Don’t forget their excellent selection of bottled beer, too.
