This August, the Montana Brewers Association is offering up one of the most unique ways to support and celebrate Montana craft beer you’ll ever find. As we first mentioned in April, the MBA is hosting Charlie Papazian for a cruise around Flathead Lake complete with live music, food, and, of course, Montana craft beer. Tickets are now available to the craft beer loving public and you’d better snatch them up fast. More than half of the 149 tickets are already sold.
As noted by the MBA, “Charlie is the ultimate celebrity in the brewing world.” Among his many acts and accomplishments, Charlie founded the Brewers Association and the Great American Beer Festival and authored the text nearly every homebrewer has read, consulted, or benefited from, The Complete Joy of Home Brewing. Apropos of perhaps nothing, he’s also a nuclear engineer (and apparently the founder of National Pie Day).
The cruise departs from Lakeside, MT, at Far West Boat Tours on Saturday, August 10 at 6:00 p.m. and will return around 9:00 p.m. John Floridis will provide music and Flathead Lake and the surrounding mountains will provide a stunning natural backdrop. The MBA has reserved rooms at several area hotels and will provide shuttle service for the event from those locations.
Tickets are $150 each and are available to purchase online here. In addition to a variety of Montana brewers and other industry folks, Alan and Ryan from Growler Fills/Montana Beer Finder will be on hand to capture and enjoy all the fun.
