The winners of the 30th beer competition at the Great American Beer Festival were announced this morning in a ceremony held in Denver, CO.  Judges awarded 286 medals in 96 beer categories covering 161 different beer styles in a competition that featured 7,227 entries from 1,752 breweries.

Uberbrew will be carrying some serious hardware on its trip back to Montana. The Billings brewery continues to rack up major awards, receiving four medals and taking the title of Small Brewing Company and Small Brewing Company Brewer of the Year.

Uberbrew won Gold in the Imperial IPA category for Humulus Insani, Silver in the Double Red Ale category for Average at Best, Bronze in the American-Style Black Ale category for Alpha Force Double Tap, and Gold in the American-Style Wheat Beer category for White Noise.

The four medals were the most won by any brewery out of the 1,752 which entered beers.  That’s astounding.

Missoula Brewing Company scored big, too, winning Gold in the Irish-Style Red Ale category for Highlander Devil’s Hump Red Ale.  Philipsburg Brewing Co. closed out the Montana winners with a Bronze medal in the Pumpkin Spice Beer category for 5 Phantoms Pumpkin Spice Barleywine.
